The world is changing rapidly due to technology and AI. In this new era, information is no longer the advantage. It is accessible to all, yet many students find themselves increasingly disengaged or lacking a clear sense of direction.
A Calm Response to a Changing World
Why This Exists
While the reality shifts, schools remain largely structured as they have been for decades. The Boys Academy stands as a calm, grounded response to this reality—an intentional environment built to form young men who can lead through it.
02 — THE FOUNDER
The Educator I wished I'd had.
I'm Dr. Isaiah Melendez. Chicago native. St. Louis school leader. Ed.D. Father of two daughters. I've spent my career inside the system — teaching, leading, turning around schools that the system left for dead.
Boys Academy is what I learned the system can't build from the inside.
Twelve boys. Six-week cycles in the city's great institutions. AI mastery, classical seminar, faith-formed character. Built for the boys public school is failing — and the boys it can no longer challenge.
What Makes Boys Academy Different
The City Is the Classroom.
Six-week cycles inside the Missouri History Museum, the Saint Louis Art Museum, EarthDance Farms, the Federal Reserve, Boeing, and a university partner. School isn't a building. It's where the work is done.
Twelve Boys. Mixed-Age Cohort. Grades 6–8.
Not eleven. Not thirteen. A brotherhood small enough to know each other and challenge each other every day.
Two Hours of AI-Tutored Mastery. Daily.
Math and science with Khanmigo. Personalized to the boy, paced by the boy, mastered by the boy.
Socratic Seminar. Classical Texts. Real-World Problems.
We read the Great Books. We read the news. We argue both. Then we build something with what we learned.
The Morning Affirmation.
Every day begins with music, grounding, and a call-and-response that reminds him who he is becoming.
Faith-Formed Character.
We don't tell a boy what to believe. We teach him that what he believes shapes how he shows up.
The Heart Comes First.
Before he can lead, he has to know himself. Before he produces, he has to be grounded. Before he speaks, he has to listen. We build the inner life — daily mentorship, brotherhood, reflection, faith — because everything else is built on it.
Twelve Boys.
One Brotherhood.
An intimate learning environment where individuality is preserved and communal bonds are forged through shared challenge.

The Affirmation
I am because we are.
I believe in the power of my thoughts to transform my actions. Breathing is my anchor.
I acknowledge my shortcomings and celebrate my successes.
I can achieve the impossible because I am possible.
I accept my emotions and allow them to serve their purpose.
I am more than what others think or say about me.
I have a responsibility to do right by those around me.
I am better than I used to be, better than I was yesterday, but not as good as I'll be tomorrow.
I have a future for which I am accountable.
I am the master of my fate, the captain of my soul.
Join the Founding Cohort
Twelve boys. Six full tuition. Six on scholarship. By design.
Founding families help us build the model. We're now in conversation with a select group of parents seeking a different path for their sons.
Building the Academy Together
We're not a school looking for vendors. We're a school looking for partners who want to shape what middle school becomes in the AI era.
Founding partners shape the curriculum, host cycles inside their institutions, and mentor the boys who will graduate into their fields.
